Cherish the Child Legacy Scholarship Fund

Purpose and History

The Cherish the Child Legacy Scholarship Fund was established by Cherish the Child, Inc. to provide scholarship assistance to eligible students, age 25 or younger, who are currently or have been foster care participants or have received services from Smoky Mountain Children’s Home.

Scholarship Amount

One $4,500 one-time award for one year OR two $2,200 one-time awards for one year, depending on the number of recipients

Eligibility

  • Residency Requirement: Not Applicable
  • Education Requirement: High school graduate or GED recipients who have been in foster care and are 25 years of age or younger
  • Field of Study: Not Applicable
  • GPA Minimum: Not Applicable
  • College/Enrollment Requirement: Part-time or full-time enrollment at a not-for-profit accredited college, university, community college, or career and technical post-secondary program
  • Financial Need: Not Applicable
  • Preference will be given to students who received services from Smoky Mountain Children’s Home.
