Vanessa Williams Memorial Scholarship Fund

Purpose and History

Established in 2016 to benefit students from Blount County (including Greenback Public School students) to pursue higher education.

Scholarship Amount

One $5,000 one-time award for one year or two $2,500 one-time awards for one year, depending on the number of recipients

Eligibility

  • Residency Requirement: Blount County
  • Education Requirement: Graduating high school seniors or current college students
  • Field of Study: Not Applicable
  • GPA Minimum: 3.0
  • College/Enrollment Requirement: Full-time enrollment at an accredited not-for-profit public or private two-year or four-year college or university or career and technical post-secondary program in Tennessee
  • Financial Need: Preferred, but not required
  • Additional Requirements: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence
