Washington County Community Foundation Awards $90,000 in Grants

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (Nov. 26, 2025) – The Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF), a community fund of the East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) is proud to announce the distribution of $90,000 in grants to three organizations that serve residents of Washington County.

The three grants awarded support a variety of projects that will enhance the quality of life for many in Washington County. The 2025 grant recipients are:

• Appalachian Banner Academy – Life Literacy and Community Connections Initiative
  • This initiative will deliver a 12-week Life Literacy & Workforce Readiness program for 30 young adults with autism, host 24 parent/child sessions for 50 families, and expand the Special Needs Coalition. It will help build literacy, independence, healthy living, and financial skills to break cycles of poverty and strengthen community support.

• Appalachian Resource Conservation & Development Council – “Farmacy” Program for Washington County
  • The “Farmacy” program will expand in Washington County to impact 750-1000 people over two years. Farmacy’s end goal is long-term pathways to whole health through fresh local food and nutrition access, specifically for low-income families and youth facing food insecurity, rural and urban residents living in food deserts, and underserved communities.

• Recovery Resources TN – Pathways to Purpose Recovery Program
  • Host and implement Pathways to Purpose, two 14-week programs annually for men in recovery, focused on life skills, financial literacy, behavioral health, job readiness, nutrition, and preventative health.
