[Jefferson County, Tennessee – August 2025] – The East Tennessee Foundation (“ETF” or the “Foundation”) has announced a grant opportunity for health-related organizations serving Jefferson County. The ETF’s Jefferson Health Care Foundation Fund is a competitive field of interest fund designed to improve the healthcare and wellbeing of Jefferson County residents. This fund is now accepting applications for the 2025 grant cycle. Applications close on September 5, and funding will be awarded in November.
Applicants must be 501(c)(3) public charities, units of government, public educational institutions, or houses of worship proposing projects which benefit the health and wellbeing of the residents and communities in Jefferson County.
“The Jefferson Health Care Foundation Fund is a function of the East Tennessee Foundation. The fund awards grants annually that expand healthcare access for Jefferson County residents,” said Keith Barber, ETF president and CEO. “We want to support the tremendous work of local organizations and their crucial programming to help those in need. Past grants have funded many health-related needs and helped people experiencing food insecurity, substance use disorders and provided access to basic healthcare. We are proud to open grant funding applications again this year so we can partner with others who are addressing the health needs in Jefferson County.”
Established in 2014 with funds from the former Jefferson Memorial Hospital, the Jefferson Health Care Foundation Fund has awarded more than $4 million in grants to an incredible variety of organizations that take creative approaches toward addressing the healthcare and wellbeing needs of the county. Applications for the 2025 grant cycle are now open.
Applications must be submitted using the ETF’s online grant system. Applications must be received no later than 6:00 pm EST on September 5, 2025. Grants will be awarded in November 2025.
