Morgan Co., Tenn. (April 6, 2026) – The Morgan County Community Foundation (MCCF), a fund of the East Tennessee Foundation (ETF), announced its distribution of more than $63,000 to seven grantees.
MCCF was established at ETF in 2022 by a dedicated group of Morgan County residents and supporters to enhance the quality of life and help create new opportunities in Morgan County. Since its first grant cycle in 2022, MCCF has awarded 43 grants, totaling more than $129,000 towards funding for education, rehabilitative services, public safety, food security programs, healthcare needs, animal assistance, and so much more.
“The East Tennessee Foundation is grateful for our MCCF volunteer advisory board members who make grant recommendations and keep us apprised of where the greatest needs are for funding in the community. We look forward to seeing how these grants will build stronger communities and impact generations to come,” said Dr. Keith Barber, President & CEO of the East Tennessee Foundation.
The seven grantees awarded in this cycle are:
Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties – $30,000
Court Appointed Special Advocates – $1,000
Friends of Frozen Head State Park – $2,000
Morgan County Medical Center – $7,500
Morgan County Rescue Squad – $1,750
Morgan/Scott Project – $20,000
Roane State Morgan County Food Bank – $1,000
“On behalf of MCCF, we are excited to invest in Morgan County through initiatives that strengthen our nonprofits, support local partnerships, and address the evolving needs in our community,” said James Frank Wilson, MCCF Advisory Board Chair. “This work reflects the hearts of MCCF and continues our mission to support programs and projects that build community goodwill, seek to solve community challenges, and produce results for the benefit of the community.”
A grantee reception and check presentation was held on Tuesday, March 24 at the Wartburg Campus of Roane State Community College.
