JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (Nov. 20, 2025) – The Jefferson Health Care Foundation Fund (JHCFF), a fund of the East Tennessee Foundation (ETF), announced its distribution of $705,219 to 28 grantees.
JHCFF was established at ETF in 2014 to support healthcare and wellbeing for Jefferson County residents. Since its first grant cycle in 2017, JHCFF has awarded 194 grants, totaling more than $4.7 million towards funding for food security programs, after-school healthy development and youth engagement activities, vital medical and response equipment for first responders, access to healthcare and dental care services, and so much more.

We are grateful for the JHCFF volunteer advisory board members comprised of local leadership with knowledge of the healthcare landscape in Jefferson County. These individuals also serve on our grant panel for this initiative and assist with the grantmaking efforts, because they know where the greatest needs for funding are in the community. We look forward to seeing how these grants will build stronger communities and impact generations to come,” said Keith Barber, President & CEO of the East Tennessee Foundation.
The 28 grantees awarded in this grant cycle are:

About the Jefferson Health Care Foundation Fund
The JHCFF was established with funds from the former Jefferson Memorial Hospital. As ETF’s largest field-of-interest fund, its purpose is to support healthcare and wellbeing for Jefferson County residents. Both the Jefferson County Government and Jefferson City Government were instrumental in setting up the fund at ETF. When applying for funds, organizations are encouraged to exercise creativity in how they define and address the healthcare and wellbeing needs of Jefferson County.
