The East Tennessee Foundation (ETF), a 501(c)(3) public charity and nationally accredited community foundation focused on serving a 25-county region in East Tennessee, is pleased to announce its partnership with Comcast as part of a broader initiative to support Hurricane Helene relief and recovery efforts across East Tennessee.
In response to Hurricane Helene’s devastation on East Tennessee, Comcast generously donated $50,000 to ETF’s Neighbor to Neighbor Disaster Relief Fund and provided free advertising time to inform audiences about ETF’s relief work and encourage others to support the region’s rehabilitation through monetary contributions.
“As our region continues grappling with the impacts and emerging needs of this monumental flood, the East Tennessee Foundation is looking not only at the region’s needs today but also tomorrow as we aim to rebuild our communities,” said ETF President & CEO Keith Barber. “We are grateful for Comcast’s commitment to East Tennessee and their strategic investment in our disaster relief and recovery efforts, and we applaud them for their philanthropic partnership.”

Exclusively aiding the affected communities in East Tennessee, the ETF’s Neighbor to Neighbor Disaster Relief Fund will be used to provide strategic grants to support local nonprofits, educational institutions, houses of worship, and government agencies to aid in recovery for their own communities amid devastating impacts from Hurricane Helene.
Along with supporting response and relief, the East Tennessee Foundation is strategically focused on the region’s long-term recovery, which is the most historically underfunded strategy of disaster relief and provides the greatest opportunity to rebuild communities.
Other individuals and organizations interested in supporting the region’s recovery are invited to partner and contribute monetary donations to the ETF’s Neighbor to Neighbor Disaster Relief Fund. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, can make a significant difference in our collective effort to support those in need during this challenging time.
