Supports and provides medically-related transportation and traveling clinical services for under-served rural residents of Greene County, TN.

The next grant cycle is tentatively scheduled for 2024.

Grant Amounts and Terms

Grants were awarded in March 2022 for two-year terms and ranged from $10,000 – $20,000.

Who May Apply

The Dr. J.G. Hawkins Memorial Fund was established in 2011. The purpose of the fund is to provide medical care and treatment for residents in rural Greene County, TN who are underserved, uninsured, or underinsured, especially children.

General Eligibility and Funding Criteria

Additional eligibility criteria specific to the Dr. J.G. Hawkins Memorial Fund:

  • Projects must exclusively benefit Greene County residents.
  • Organizations must propose a project that will support and provide medically-related transportation to rural residents of Greene County, or
  • Organizations must propose a project that will bring traveling clinical/medical services to underserved rural areas of Greene County on a temporary or intermittent basis.
  • Organizations are not required to reside in Greene County in order to be eligible to apply.
