John Johnson

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE + ADMINISTRATION

PLEASE CONTACT ME WHEN:

Having been with the Foundation for nearly 8 years I can either answer just about any question or know where to find the answer and I’m always here to help. Having said that, I’m the point person for initiating grant distributions for our organization and designated funds. I am also contacted about quarterly fund statements.

ON A TYPICAL WORKDAY I’LL BE:

Most days I oversee the accounting and finance functions of the Foundation, including quarterly fund reports. Making sure we follow policies and best practices for Community Foundations, I oversee East Tennessee Foundation’s annual audit, tax reporting, charitable solicitation registrations, as well as many other finance-related functions. Additionally, I have oversight for technological support for the Foundation.

I CHOSE THIS WORK BECAUSE:

I was born in Memphis and moved to Knoxville at a very young age. I also have family in the Nashville area. Needless to say, I care about our entire state and see how our work impacts our region with ripple effects going far beyond. I can see my work contributing to this every day.

MORE ABOUT ME:

I have a B.S. in Accounting from Presbyterian College and have both professional and volunteer accounting experience. I’ve served as the accounting manager for a privately held business and currently serve as the treasurer of my church.
