Beth Heller

SPECIAL PROJECTS ADVISOR

PLEASE CONTACT ME WHEN:

After more than 16 years working with ETF scholarships, I have taken a new role as Special Projects Advisor. In addition to continuing to help with our scholarship program, I will be working with stewardship and advancement projects. I am happy to answer your questions about East Tennessee Foundation’s services and opportunities. If I do not know the answer, I will find someone who does!

ON A TYPICAL WORKDAY I’LL BE:

You will find me assisting with the administration of scholarships and engaging in stewardship and advancement projects. This may include interacting with and helping fundholders and/or supporting the implementation of stewardship-related events and activities.

I CHOSE THIS WORK BECAUSE:

I have spent my entire career working for nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions. With my background in social work and university financial aid administration, I am passionate about providing access to post-secondary education and other opportunities to enhance the quality of life for individuals and communities.

MORE ABOUT ME:

I grew up in New York but have called Knoxville home for 38 years. I hold a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in higher education with a focus on student services.

I am an avid reader and have been in the same book group for 35 years! I also enjoy going for long walks and experiencing the beauty of our region. My favorite pastime is spending time with family and friends.

My husband, Rob, is a photojournalism and graphic design professor at the University of Tennessee, and several of his photographs grace the walls of ETF’s office. We have two sons, Joel, an attorney in Washington, D.C., and Benjamin, a script analyst in Los Angeles.
