Johnson County Community Foundation Awards Over $4,800 in Support of Johnson County Organizations

East Tennessee Foundation Affiliate Fund announces grant recipients
EAST TENNESSEE - The Johnson County Community Foundation (JCF), an Affiliate Fund of East Tennessee Foundation (ETF), announces the recipients of the 2008 Johnson County Community Foundation Grants Program. Seven area organizations have received grant awards totaling more than $4,800 to support programs and projects to improve the community. A reception will be held for all grant recipients on Monday, August 18, 2008 in the 2nd floor Johnson County Board of Education Board Room at 5:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
The awarded projects include endeavors that build community goodwill, seek to solve community challenges and produce results improving the quality of life for all citizens of Johnson County. Grantee organizations are located within and/or serve Johnson County and are tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations or other exempt entities. Created by a group of Johnson County residents in 2001, to serve the people of their beloved county, the Foundation gives donors a way to connect their giving with local nonprofits, public agencies and compelling charitable causes. JCF, established as a permanent endowment, provides an on-going resource to fund endeavors creating opportunities and addressing challenges for all Johnson County citizens.
East Tennessee Foundation, established in 1986, is a regional community foundation serving 25 counties in East Tennessee. With the mission of enriching lives and strengthening communities, ETF administers 12 affiliate funds, including JCF.
