Fund for Greene County (FGC)

Created in 1994 as a way to maintain the legacies of Greene County, FGC gives donors a way to connect their giving with local nonprofits, public agencies and compelling charitable causes. The FGC, established as a permanent endowment, provides an on-going resource to fund programs and projects that create opportunities and address challenges for all citizens in Greene County.  

With the goal of improving the quality of life of Greene County residents, the Fund for Greene County (FGC) serves as Greene County's own community foundation. Financial resources are collected and distributed throughout Greene County by FGC. Monies raised by FGC benefit only Greene County and its citizens.

The Fund for Greene County is currently inactive.  SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
Greene County students are eligible to apply for the following 4 scholarships:

  • The Coach Jack Blair Scholarship: for team members of Greeneville High School Lady Devil's basketball team
  • Karolyn King Carter Scholarship Fund: for graduating seniors of Greeneville High School planning to major in fine arts, commercial arts, or media arts
  • Gail Clay Scholarship (Scholarship not available for 2010-2011 academic year. Next available 2013-2014 academic year.): for spouse or child (graduating high school senior or current college student) of full-time, non-exempt employee of the University of Tennessee or other state-supported, public higher education institution located in East Tennessee Foundation's 25-county service area.
  • Fund for Greene County Scholarship: for graduating seniors from Greenville High School, West Greene High School, North Greene School, South Greene High School, Chuckey-Doak High School or Greene County residents with GED.
